Commemoration by the young: 4th graders shine Munich’s Stolpersteine
Neither rain nor wind nor biting cold deterred twenty 4th graders from shining 25 Stolpersteine in Munich’s Sendling borough. The students then read the inscriptions – and posed searching questions: “How do you know where to place the Stolpersteine?” “How do you find out where the victims lived?” “Stolpersteine are found in 32 countries. Does that mean that the inscriptions are in the country’s language?” “Why did the Holocaust take place?” “Why did Hitler and the Nazis hate the Jews so much?”
It is an honor and Naches to join these wonderful young people in commemorating the victims of the Holocaust.
